In December 2013, de Bijenkorf hosted de SintRun in ten cities in the Netherlands. Starting from November 26th, players could hunt and catch virtual gifts within de Bijenkorf App. Each gift that was brought back to one of de Bijenkorf stores could be exchanged for an actual gift from Sinterklaas.

By placing the SintRun within de Bijenkorf App (Plugin), we managed to boost the amount of App downloads and increase the retention rate of the App by 20%.
In total, over 2000 players went out to hunt the virtual gifts and 200 players were lucky enough to win a Bijenkorf Giftcard with a value up to 200 euro.
By integrating the campaign with Social Media, the game generated lots of online discussing and positive feedback among players. Satisfied with the results, de Bijenkorf decided to host another hunt in 2014.
